Polycystin-1 and polycystin-2 expression in the adult kidney
Bradley K. Yoder, Sharon Mulroy, Hannah Eustace, Catherine Boucher and Richard Sandford

Figure 5. Polycystin-1 and polycystin-2 expression in the adult kidney. Polycystin-1 is predominantly expressed in the distal convoluted tubule, and cortical and medullary collecting ducts of the adult kidney. Polycystin-2 is expressed in the loop of Henle and the distal convoluted tubule. Normal human kidney was fixed in parafomaldehyde and embedded in paraffin prior to sectioning and staining with anti-polycystin antibodies; polycystin staining is shown by a brown colour. Abbreviations: CD, collecting duct; CT, connecting tubule; DCT, distal convoluted tubule; G, glomerulus, L, loop of Henle; PCT, proximal convoluted tubule.
